What to Expect
Each week is different, but each week follows a similar pattern to help you learn the material and develop the skills to talk about the weekly topic. A typical week might look something like this:
Mondays
View the material that introduces the topic for the week (video clip, article, blog post etc. from the English speaking world) and complete the associated study exercises to help you understand the material.
Tuesdays
Learn the key vocabulary, including pronunciation, for the weekly topic by completing activities such as quizzes, word matching, flashcards, short answer exercises and many more!
Wednesdays
View the lecture or micro-lesson that the teacher has prepared. The lecture will help you better understand certain grammar, vocabulary or pronunciation issues that are relevant to the weekly topic.
Thursdays
Practice the language activities to check your understanding of the content covered in the lecture or micro-lesson. This will help you prepare for talking accurately about the topic at the end of the week.
Fridays
Practice your listening and pronunciation skills by viewing the the video or listening to the audio that the teacher has prepared. This will help prepare you to speak confidently about the topic in the speaking class and build your conversational skills.
Saturdays/Sundays
Join the speaking class and talk to your teacher and fellow learners about the topic you have been studying during the week. By now you will have all the skills and knowledge to have a successful conversation in English!
Optional Extra
Join a one-on-one speaking class with Dave to build on the skills you have developed during the week and get personalised feedback on your speaking and pronunciation.
Repeat!
Continue this process each week to improve your spoken English and become an amazing English Speaker!
*Note: All lessons and activities are self-paced, so you can complete them in your own time. Only the weekly speaking class runs on a fixed schedule.

FAQs
Who is the Daily English Immersion Course for?
There are two different courses available - Elementary to Intermediate and Upper Intermediate to Advanced. If you join a course and decide that it is too easy or difficult, you can always change levels to one that is more appropriate for you.
What kinds of lessons and activities can I expect to do each week?
Each week of the Daily English Immersion Course has a different topic. The topic is introduced using a video clip, an article, a blog or some other piece of media from the English-speaking world. This media provides the basis for a range of activities and lessons that help you understand and use the grammar, vocabulary and phrases related to the topic in real-world communicative situations. For example, you might watch a micro-lecture prepared by the teacher, complete a vocabulary activity, take part in a listening or reading exercise, study an area of grammar, write an article, participate in a pronunciation workshop or practice your conversational skills in a speaking class. Each day is different, but each day's set of lessons and activities are designed to help you understand the weekly topic and prepare you to talk about it in the weekly speaking class.
What happens in the weekly speaking class?
The speaking classes last for 60 minutes and are hosted online (via Zoom) by a qualified, native English speaking teacher. During the class, students are presented with a speaking activity and then divided into pairs or small groups in 'breakout rooms' to complete the task. The teacher moves between breakout rooms to guide you through the activity, offer suggestions and input, provide feedback on error and just say hello! The emphasis is on you and your fellow students to use the language that you have been studying throughout the week to complete the activity and activate your newfound English knowledge!
